Teaching English with Foreigner Volunteer
There is something about Volunteer Teaching that is very appealing. I have always been interested in it. Now I have undertaken the TEF (Teaching English with Foreigner) course, it is actually a possibility, not just a thought. You can get invaluable experience using TEF in schools from Class One to Class Twelve. There are also some amazing volunteer projects available and opportunities for TEF graduates to pursue.
If you have the time and the desire, there is no better way to experience a country's culture than to live and work with their people. In many circumstances, you are helping some of the world's most underprivileged people to learn language skills that could make a real difference to their lives, not to mention the future prosperity of their communities.
In this 17 days adventure volunteer trek to remote villages of the Himalaya, you will deliver school supplies and teach/help at village schools. You did not need to be a teacher to go on this trek. We are looking for volunteers who love working with children, are interested in cultural immersion, and going well off the tourist path of Nepal. The villagers we visit have seldom see tourists, or Western people.
Trip HighlightsOur goal with this trek is to:
- Be sure kids in need have proper school supplies to read, write and learn.
- Deliver new school shirts for village children. Having the same clothes of the same quality promotes equality. This is important for children in the Dalit castes, and others who are marginalized.
- Help students learn in English. Students generally learn language, math, science and social studies in English.
- Help village teachers practice English fluency and latest technology.
- Introduce technology in schools.
- Suggest play learning techniques that help children learn and retain information easily.
